Savage Ambition started from a simple idea: clothing should mean something before you ever put it on.
My path into fashion didn’t begin in a traditional design school. It came from years of paying attention to the way clothes shape identity, the confidence of a great fit, the emotion tied to a graphic, the memories attached to a certain era, and the way a uniform can change how you carry yourself. How you rep your city.
I’ve always been drawn to the style and energy of the 80s/90s and even early 2000s. Vintage sportswear, color blocking and premium crafted pieces. From Guess Jeans to Girbauds, Polo Sport, Tommy, Ecko & Dickies, our culture was reflected by what you wore. Hip-hop, sports, film, and music videos gave us our visuals. Collegiate lettering. Workwear. Military utility. Faded denim. Washed cotton. Oversized silhouettes. Thick collars. Boxy cuts. Pieces that looked better after they had been lived in.
Rooted in history. Built to move forward.
That history is the foundation, but Savage Ambition isn’t built to live in the past.
The goal is to take those references and push them forward into something more refined, elevated streetwear that can move between the gym, the street, travel, family, work and everyday life. Pieces should feel familiar without feeling copied. Rugged without feeling cheap. Premium without becoming precious.
Weight. Structure. Character.
Material matters just as much as artwork. I’m drawn to heavyweight combed cotton, corduroy, denims, textured knits, thermals, canvas, washed fleece, nylon, technical stretch fabrics and substantial ribbing, fabrics that have weight, structure and character. I want garments that feel good in your hands before you ever look at the graphic.
Color is part of the storytelling too. The palette moves through washed black, cream, teal, burnt orange, forest green, navy, chocolate, olive, faded blue, grey and sun-worn neutrals, with brighter colors used intentionally rather than everywhere. The inspiration comes from old uniforms, vintage athletics, nature, workwear, southern culture, racing, military uniforms, ranch wear and the colors you find in garments that have aged naturally over time.
